Open Studios 2019 and tribute to a very special artist…

Where has the time gone? I can’t believe its my Open Studio event this weekend!! So excited its such a fabulous event. Come and explore six floors of artists’ studios, ( and mine of course ) meet professional artists and see where creativity happens! Whether you’re an art aficionado or simply curious, you’re sure to find something to intrigue and inspire you at Phoenix, the largest artists’ studio group in the South East. I’ll be in my studio for the 3 days, talking about printmaking … and having a general chit chat. ….
I’ll be showing my hand printed prints, paintings on wood, greetings cards, notebooks and my latest edition to my range, a lovely cotton tea towel.
I’ll also be selling a gorgeous tea towel designed by a local artist Victor Stuart Graham. Victor sadly passed away last week, his friends have decided that all of the money made from the sale of the tea towel will be donated to the fabulous local Martlett’s Hospice in Hove where Victor stayed for awhile. Its such a gorgeous design, bright and Summery, its inspired by Newhaven where he lived, based on a papercut. Victor called it All at Sea.
As you can see from the photo its gorgeous.The company Stuart Morris that printed it were fabulous to work with, i highly recommend them. We are asking for a donation of a minimum of £10. If you would like to donate anymore than £10 this will be gratefully received as it will be going to such a worthy cause. Its obviously a very sad time for everyone, he was a very special man. I shall cherish our chats and comparing pieces of driftwood we had collected, The tea towel is a lovely tribute and has given everyone something positive to think about. I hope he is as chuffed with the finished item as i am.
Dates and times for Open Studios are below. The Friday night is our private view which is open to everyone! I’ll be serving drinks in my studio all weekend if you fancy a tipple while you browse the browsers. If you are local do come along, its a unique weekend. I remember visiting years before i was offered a studio, i loved it. Come and purchase one of Victor’s tea towels, they will sell out for sure. They are also available at 3 Open House venues.
